Terms of Reference of the Platform (126 KB)
This Working Group has to focus on areas where wind exploitation is still poor, for enabling the full deployment of wind energy. Particular emphasis shall be put on offshore and extreme climate resources.
Key areas in this thematic may include: advanced siting and wind characterization models. Wind resource mapping, advanced wind power forecasting techniques. Advanced measurements techniques including remote sensing.
A Working Group is composed of a small number (e.g. max. 20) of high-level persons willing to participate to the work of the Technology Platform. Working Groups members are selected from a call of expression of interest launched by the Secretariat. Selection is based on objective criterions, to be proposed by the Secretariat and to be validated by the Executive Committee of the Technology Platform.
The Chairperson of Working Group 1 is Mr. E. L. Petersen (Risoe National Laboratory). Mr Petersen was elected during the second Steering Committee meeting, in May 2007.
The Vice-Chairperson of Working Group 1 is Mr. I. Marti (CENER). The Vice-Chairperson was elected during the first TPWind General Assembly, in November 2007.
Members of the group were selected from a Call for Expression of Interest, launched by the Secretariat of the Technology Platform. This call ended on September 16th, 2007.
