On October 13th, the 2009 ETPs (European Technology Platforms) conference was held in Brussels. The title of the event was "Gearing R&I to address societal challenges".
This conference marked the first time that European Technology Platforms and Member States representatives met to discuss and explore the potential role of ETPs in addressing societal challenges. ETPs will therefore play an increasingly important role in defining research and innovation policies, also thanks to the successful outcome of their 2009 conference.

The next ETPs conference will be held in Brussels on May 11th and 12th 2010.
